Damage From LAST WEEK'S New Hampshire Water Main Break THAT CAUSED MAJOR FLOODING Estimated at $50K-$100K

MANCHESTER, NH – Just after 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 a water main ruptured near the Manchester/Bedford town line on Goffe Street.
Manchester Police started evacuating buildings along Goffe Street, as many as 20 people.
Kim Cinelli arrived home to her condo on Log Street to find water rushing toward Second Street, and the flash of emergency vehicle lights.
She stood under an umbrella near the intersection of Goffe and Dartmouth Street, watching firefighters wade through the water trying to keep drains clear of leaves.
“I didn’t even go inside my condo yet. I came right over here to see what was going on,” Cinelli said.
There were several road closures in the area reported by police, including South Main Street at Varney Street; West Hancock Street at Log Street; W. Hancock Street at Wheelock Street; Wheelock Street at Frederick Street; Dartmouth Street at McNeil Street; and Woodbury Street at S. Main Street.
Motorists should seek alternate routes for their morning commute, police said. Mayor Ted Gatsas and members from the City Health Department and Water Works department were on the scene to assess the damages.
“I’m not sure what happened,” Gatsas said, “except that we have 1925 water pipes.

Police say the city of Manchester, New Hampshire, hopes to reopen a road damaged by a water main break within the next two days.
Police said 21 people were evacuated from their homes due to flooding from the water main break Thursday night that caused sink holes to open.
Police said the pipe was repaired Friday, but was still being tested. The cost of damage may run between $50,000 and $100,000.
Goffe Street, from South Main Street and West Hancock Street, was closed to traffic.
